Do you walk dogs in groups?
At Claudia’s Tails on Trails no dogs are pack walked. Your dogs safety is the number one priority so there are a few reasons why we don’t offer pack walks:
- Fights and bullying are more likely to occur. All dogs are different and just like humans, dogs have individual personalities. Some of our furry friends may be naturally social and enjoy interacting with others, while others may be more reserved or even fearful. Like people, not everyone in the world will be your cup of tea and that’s the same for dogs too.
- 1-2-1 walks offer personalised attention and focused care which cannot always be guaranteed with larger pack walks.
- A healthy dog is a happy dog and mixing large packs can run risks of transmitting illnesses from one to another, no matter how careful.
What’s the alternative? All dogs at Claudia’s Tails on Trails receive solo walks unless requested otherwise. If you wish for your dog to walk with another, your dog would be carefully matched with one other friend who’s personality would allow them to be the perfect play partner. It’s very important we take the time to understand your dogs temperament before introducing them to another.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, I am fully insured and can provide proof at request.
What happens if the weather is bad?
In extreme cases such as extreme heat waves or heavy snow, for the safety of my dogs I will offer a house visit instead of a walk. House visits include toilet breaks, play and lots of enrichment. This will be discussed on a case by case basis.
What safety precautions do you have in place?
- All dogs are leash walked until I am confident on your dogs recall. I have a range of long lines which gives your dog the freedom to sniff, play and run. If we agree that your dog can be let off lead I will send across a document for you to sign.
- To ensure the safety of all my dogs a bodycam is worn at all times.
- My vehicle has a crash tested crate to ensure they are comfortably and safely transported to and from walks. This crate is suitable for small, medium and large breeds. I also have a vehicle which has a back seat hammock for dogs who may not travel comfortable in a create.
What payment methods do you accept?
I accept cash and bank transfer. Payment is required when a scheduled booking is confirmed.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Cancellations made within 24 hours of a full day house sitting session, or 6 hours of a dog walk or drop in session will only be eligible for a 50% refund.
